Bristol Interactive United Show at Hamilton House

Our show this year, to roll out the final year of the ND Interactive Media course before it becomes the BTEC Extended Diploma in Interactive Media with Game Design, was to do a performance at Hamilton House, Stokes Croft.
All of our students worked collaboratively with FDa Interactive Multimedia and ND Music Tech Students to provide interactive visuals through the use of Max/MSP and Jitter which would sync with live music performances.

Hamilton House proved to be a great venue for multimedia performances and it was interesting to see how the students were supportive of each others work as they all worked collectively, even beyond the requirements of our brief. But the most important reason for involving students in a live performance was to give them the chance to see their work connecting directly to an audience and allowing interactivity to come from the audience and in the words of Marcel Duchamp, “the audience create the artwork”

Welcome to our site

This site is a work in progress. Each year we ask the students to help design a theme for wordpress to use on this site. This is our current redesign and our intention is to revisit the design process each year and involve all the students in the design process.

The students learn dreamweaver as part of their course and group together to build a theme by spliting into a design, developer, usability and content group and discuss what is required to build a theme. They also get the chance to build a site for a client so that they have an website which they can add to their growing portfolios.

Each student on this site will soon have examples of their work and links to portfolios elsewhere on the Internet.

Please have a look around and get in touch if you like what you see.
